Considering the sin tax. Dr. Bob Becker, former director of the Strom Thurmond Institute on Government and Public Affairs talks with Dr. Holley Hewitt Ulbrich, an Alumna Professor Emerita of Economics at Clemson University and Senior Fellow at the Strom Thurmond Institute.  Dr. Ulbrich is the author or co-author of a number of Citizen’s Guides including:  Local Governments and Home Rule in South Carolina and Paying for Government in South Carolina. Bob McAnally speaks with John Fowler, New Harmonies scholar and co-producer with artist Glen Miller of Story, Song and Image, an exhibition on SC traditional music currently on display along with the Smithsonian's New Harmonies traveling exhibit at the Gaffney Visitors Center & Art Gallery. The ecosystems within and beyond the National Parks.
Peter Kent talks with Tanya Shenk, a landscape ecologist with the National Park Service Biological Resource Management Division about her work on biological issues arising from climate change, energy development, habitat fragmentation, and migratory species within and beyond the National Parks borders.  Dr. Shenk was a participant in an international Sea Eagle Conference held in February 2011 at the Madren Conference Center in Clemson, SC.

Pianist Alon Goldstein. Mickey Harder, director of the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts and NPR music commentator Miles Hoffman visit with Alon Goldstein following his solo recital of works by Chopin, Beethoven, Ligeti, and Janacek at Clemson University. The concert was part of the University’s awarding-winning Utsey Chamber Music Series, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this season.

Pests in the pantry. Dr. Eric Benson, Clemson Extension Urban Entomologist in the Department of Entomology, Soils, and Plant Sciences compares notes on the Indian Meal Moth and other stored product pests with Cam Lay, assistant head of the Department of Pesticide Regulation. Dr. Ronald E. McNair Life History Center. Bob Schuster talks with Ret. Major General Charles Bolden, current NASA Administrator and former space shuttle astronaut, who spoke about the life of South Carolina native and Challenger astronaut Ron McNair at the January 28 dedication of the Ronald E. McNair Life History Center in Lake City, SC on the 25th anniversary of the Challenger disaster.

Clemson University professor emerita Libby Hoyle visits with David Tompkins, director of the SC State Farmers Markets at the new Market facility in West Columbia, the largest of the three regional State Farmers Markets operated by the SC Department of Agriculture.
